Parent Newsletter
December 2023
Dear Dunham Families,
As the temperature drops and the mountains become covered with snow, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Your involvement makes a significant difference, and we are grateful for the strong sense of community that defines our school.
Winter has arrived, and with it, our classrooms have transformed into cozy sanctuaries of learning and creativity. Their eyes light up with excitement, and their enthusiasm is a testament to the joy of learning that permeates our school.
As we embrace the winter spirit, I want to remind you to ensure your little ones are warmly dressed for the colder days. Jackets, sweatshirts, and pants are essential for outdoor play and exploration. Many of our classrooms are also cold and students need to be warm and comfortable to learn.
Safety and comfort are our top priorities, and your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thank you once again for entrusting us with the privilege of nurturing and educating your children. Your partnership is invaluable, and together, we can make this winter season a magical and enriching experience for each and every student.
Wishing you and your families a season filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable moments.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Chandler and the Dunham Staff

Checkout the Library
Hello families!
We have a lot of seriously overdue books out right now from every class. When your child does not bring the book back, they are not allowed to check out a new one and a fee will be added to their library account.
The fees associated with these books stay in the library program until the book is either returned or paid for. They follow the student from year to year and school to school.
I will be sending out notices again this week to the kids who have overdue books. Please look around your homes and in your child’s backpack to see if you can find their book and have them bring it back ASAP. If you cannot find your child’s book, it can be paid for in the office.
~Ms. Jolly
Our Health Office Cares
It is the time of year when students get sick. Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. This includes if they were vomiting the night before at home. Please notify the health office if you have given your child any over-the-counter medicine for fever, sore throat, vomiting, etc. before coming to school. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without the help of any medication before returning to school. Thank you.
Support Our PTO
The Panther Patch is coming!
Dunham Panthers - Get ready for our annual Panther Patch! This is your opportunity to buy gifts for your friends and family - holiday gifts, birthday gifts, New Year presents, “Thank you” trinkets, or “just because gifts.” The PTO will be hosting the Panther Patch December 11-15 during lunch time for students only. We will have one afterschool shopping time on Wednesday December 13 from 12:50-2:00pm. Items range in price from 25 cents to $10, so there will be something for everyone! Parents and adults - this is your kiddos’ opportunity to do a little shopping on their own, but we will send home a “wish list” that you can use to help guide their shopping! Hope to see you there! Contact the PTO with any questions or to volunteer to help!
We raised over $600 at the Peter Piper Pizza night! Way to go Panthers! We hope you had fun playing games, visiting with friends, and eating pizza! Be on the lookout after break for our next event! Congratulations to the all of costume prize winners - we loved seeing everyone's creativity! Thanks to everyone who participated!
Who’s ready for a little friendly competition?
From now until December 15, each classroom is collecting new and unopened hygiene products to support Dunham Families. See the flyer that was sent home this week, check your email or Facebook for more details! The classroom that collects the most hygiene products will get a cocoa and cookie party sponsored by the PTO! Contact us with questions -
Mark your calendars for the next PTO meeting Monday January 22 at 5pm in the Resource Room at Dunham or via Zoom! https://cochise.zoom.us/j/3586197059
