Florence Update - May 10th, 2020
Student Distribution of Materials This Week!
Our hope was to give students the opportunity to have their moment of closure in the building as they cleared out their own lockers. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 virus has continued its increase in our area, so allowing students in the building is just not something we can safely do at this time and would run counter to guidance directly from TEA.
Our staff will be coming in next week to clear out student lockers/desks. Items will be placed in bags for student distribution according to the schedule below. If there are specific items you are concerned about, please contact your classroom teacher by 8:00 a..m. Tuesday, May 12th. If you do not want your student’s supplies, also let your teacher know, and she will discard those items.
If you have students of multiple ages, please come by with your oldest child’s grade level.
Staff will be outside of Florence at the specified times to give student belongings to parents. Traffic flow will be handled similar to dismissal car pickup. Please do not exit your vehicle or park and walk over. We will have a bin for you to return library books, as well as guided reading books that were provided by your classroom teacher prior to Spring Break. If you have medication at school, after you have received your student’s belongings, please park in the parking spot in front of the auditorium. Nurse Sue will be available to bring your child’s medication to you.
Our 4th graders will have a special Drive by dedicated to only to them on May 21st from 9:00 – 10:00. From 11:00 – 12:30, you are welcome to drive through Florence and wave goodbye for the year! We are looking forward to a fresh and exciting 2020-2021!

From KISD Counseling Department
KISD Families,
In an effort to best support the social and emotional needs of our students and families, Keller ISD's Departments of Counseling, Intervention Counseling, and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) have created optional Guidance and SEL activities that are both grade-level appropriate and student-driven. In addition to these activities that you can facilitate with your students, we have included resources for both students and families. Parents can access the information using the links below. As always, your Keller ISD Counselors are here to support you. Please do not hesitate to contact your campus counselor for further assistance.
