Reading

This week in Reading we will review Expository & Persuasive texts. We will look at elements of both types of texts and practice our comprehension strategies while reading.

*Spelling - Unit 20

* Vocabulary - Unit 20: the suffix -y

Math

We will begin review this week:

  • Decimals
  • Order or Operations
  • Addition / Subtraction of Fraction with unlike denominators
  • Prime & Composite Numbers

Quiz on Friday. This quiz will be a review of the year.

Science

In science this week we are starting to learn about Life Cycles! We will be learning about complete and incomplete metamorphosis and complete an activity where students get to match and illustrate the changes that animals go through! We will have a vocabulary quiz on Friday over all the words from Unit 10-- Ecosystems!

Social Studies

This we we are learning about a new era for the United States... The Industrial Revolution! Students will be taken on a journey through what it was like to have new advances in communication and transportation. The newspaper this week talks about leaders in technology at that time and what it was like to only have a railroad to get across the country. We will complete the crossword at the back of our newspaper as well as looking at the main idea and details from the week. On Friday we will take a 10 question quiz over the reading!
