A Publication for HES Staff

Week of February 1st

Welcome

Congratulations to our teachers who participated in Friday's Musicale - Michele, Helen, Kate, Alicia, Chrys-Ann, Janet and Dana!

Secret Valentine forms were just distributed. Please complete and return to Rachel by Wednesday if you are interested in participating. Thanks, Rachel!

Thanks for completing and submitting the Habitat for Humanity interest survey. To date, more than 20 staff members have expressed an interest in volunteering! It's not too late - please click here by Friday if you would like to join us.

Finally, don't forget that Monday is Root Beer Float Day for staff immediately following dismissal. Click here to participate. Thanks for coordinating, Claudia!

Have a wonderful week ahead!

David

Reminder: Enrichment Clusters

I love viewing the Google spreadsheet to see the creative classes which have been proposed by staff! Click here to sign up if you haven't already done so. Friendly reminder: the expectation is that every staff member lead a class or support someone who is leading.

Last week, an email was sent to staff containing dozens of enrichment class ideas offered at other schools. Thanks, Chelsea!

On a related note, I have reached out to my administrative colleagues to see if anyone is interested in teaching a class.

Finally, a parent communication will go out within the next 2 weeks.

Our March Menu has just been posted.

Three other entrees are:

If interested, please pre-order online. The cost is $4.75 which includes a beverage.

Update: New Students

We have a handful of new children who will be/may be registering. We try to give teachers a heads up when we know a registration is about to take place. However, we don't always know when a child has an IEP which may delay notification. Sometimes, we find out from the registrar and then only have 48 hours before a child will begin.

Here is an update:

+ possible kindergartner

+ 1st grader (2/1 start in 1H)

+ possible 4th grader

+ 5th grader (returning on 2/17)

Lesson Plans

Please remember to post your lesson plans each week.

Updated: SGOs

You should be reviewing your SGOs and analyzing mid-year data to determine if changes are necessary. Modifications can take place until 2/15.

As of last week, administrators may now unlock SGO's. To make modifications, email the administrator who is responsible for reviewing your SGO. Once the change is made, reach back out to the same administrator.

If I am assigned to review your SGO: please email me even if you don't require a change. I will then advance your SGO in OnCourse from "initial implementation" to "final implementation."

Let me know if you have any questions!
