Marysville Memo

DECEMBER 2020

COVID-19 DAILY ACTIVE SCREENING

All students must continue to perform a daily self-assessment for symptoms of COVID-19. We appreciate that our families are diligently following this process. Please see the list of symptoms and a screening tool released by the Government of Ontario.

SAFE ARRIVAL & INCLEMENT WEATHER

All parents/guardians are asked to report their student’s absence, regardless of the reason, including bus cancellation days. Often, bused students find alternative ways to school and we want to ensure we know the whereabouts of every student to ensure their safety and well-being. Knowing who is supposed to be at school will allow school office staff to best ensure all students are accounted for.

For more information on the Safe Arrival/Absence Reporting process, please see the LDSB website at: https://www.limestone.on.ca/families/report_a_student_absence

POINSETTIA SALES

In its 7th year, 2020 turned out to be a record breaking year for poinsettia sales at MPS! Marysville families and extended community members more than doubled previous year's sales! We send a huge thank you to all of our supporters and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

TREE STUMPS

Thank you to our Parent Council for the tree stumps that have been placed in our school yard. These will serve as a seating option for our outdoor learning space, as well as for some imaginative play. A special thank you to Peter van Vliet, who cut and delivered the stumps, and community member, Jamie Sansom, who donated the stumps for our use.

REMINDERS

  • School Picture orders are due Dec 3rd. Orders can be placed online at mylifetouch.ca OR by completing the order form and returning it to school.

  • Extra masks - KFL&A Public Health recommends students have an extra mask at school during the colder weather. This will allow for a change of masks as they become moist from the colder air.

  • With the wet, colder weather it is also a good idea for students to have splash pants or snow pants for recess time, or an extra set of clothing, if needed.

  • Water bottles, please!

  • Please ensure your child has indoor running shoes at school.
