Principal's Weekly Newsletter
Clover Patch Preschoolers are enjoying fall with trips to The Patch this week. Shown is the 2-day class on their visit this morning.
October 6, 2022
Mr. Wiebers is out today and a couple of leaders have stepped up to fill in and bring you the weekly letter!
This week we have joined other schools in the Cedar Valley to celebrate Leader in Me Week. Our pet Mass led by Mrs. Kjelsen's class on Tuesday was a lot of fun. It was great to see students dressed up as biblical characters for "I See the Leader in Jesus" day. The seventh and eight graders were especially creative. Yesterday we took our all school group picture in our new school t-shirts. The two of us and one other member of our Leader in Me Week Lighthouse Team got to lead our walk for Iowa's Healthiest State after the photo. It was fun to wave to the Clover Patch preschoolers on our walk.
Today we spent time planning our class service learning projects. Classes also made cards and wrote letters to firefighters and other people that serve us and to residents of the Western Home.
We are proud to be a Lighthouse School where we all participate in leadership roles. We think it was cool to be able to be on the team to lead our first Leader in Me Week and that it has helped us grow stronger as leaders.
There is still more to come! Tonight is the event at Palmers and it will be neat to celebrate leadership with students from other Leader in Me schools. Don't forget that tomorrow students get to dress like their favorite hobby or interest for "Find Your Voice Friday."
Sincerely,
Gabi and Nora
Lighthouse Team Members
P.S.: Don't forget to do the family activities at home.
