The Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence was finalized in 1776 and was not made based off of Thomas Jefferson's thoughts alone. He got most of the individual liberty ideas from John Lock.

Native Americans

Native Americans were the tribal people who originally lived in the present day U.S. The truth is that their land was taken away by force from the explorers and colonists that formed America.

Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the heavy taxation that the British government had levied on the colonies. A group of the local Bostonians disguised as a group of Native Americans snuck onto a British tea boat and poured all the British tea in the harbor.

Intolerable Acts

The Intolerable Acts was a response from the British to the Bostonians who conducted the Boston Tea Party. This act only allowed food and firewood the Boston port. Town meetings were banned, and the authority of the royal governor was increased.

Patriots were the colonists who fought against the tyrannical British governments's control over the American colonies during the American Revolution. They thought that they top should be an independent nation away from Britain.
