Topic Talk: Self Expression
Learning how to express yourself in a healthy way can be a wonderful way to live an authentic, more fulfilling life. Practicing expressing yourself and being true to who you are is essential to becoming strong in believing in yourself, releasing emotions, and creating the life that you want.[1]
Self Expression can be defined as the expression of one's feelings, thoughts, or ideas, especially in writing, art, music, or dance. Positive self expression is a great way for others to get to get to know you. Other positive ways to express yourself can be decorating, sports, and dress. So feel free to express yourself in a way that doesn't cause harm to yourself or others!

Celebrating Black History Month
We can all get along...Let's talk it out(Conflict Resolution strategy)
Sometimes there is a lot of misinformation going around which could cause mass confusion and conflict. Try talking it out. Taking the time to share how you feel about something in a calm manner allows for clarification and can prevent any major conflict from occurring. It also helps for a more positive learning environment. So let's get along better with others by choosing to talk it out!

Character still counts: Caring
The character pillar for the month of February is Caring. Davis students show they care by forgiving others, helping others, being kind in words and actions, and using good manners. Be your best you by being a Caring person.
Encourage Yourself: Talk positively(SEL)
When it seems like things are not going you're way try encouraging yourself. One good way to encourage yourself is with positive self talk. Positive self talk can help to change your mindset, mood, and help to get you moving in the right direction.
Some examples of positive talk could include: I Am smart, I can do this, I like myself and who I am, I will keep trying, and It is ok to make mistakes. So go ahead and encourage yourself with positive self talk. You'll be glad you did.
Happy Birthday to you!
