Go "GREEN" Meadows!

Our Go GREEN Meadows Recycling Committee is working hard to take the fist couple steps towards reducing waste at our school. Here are a few simple steps we have taken:

~We now have recycle bins in our cafeteria and hallway.

~We are limiting the use of straws.

~We are recycling plastic water cups.

~We are no longer using plastic lids for our "Power Pack" lunch option.

~We participate in the Baystate Textile Recyclying Program.

Please let us know if you can help support our recycling efforts!

Did you know textiles can be reused and recycled?

You probably noticed the clothing/textile drop off bin at Green Meadows. Here is a bit more information:

Pink-out Pics

Student Council organized a Pink-out Day for healthy bodies in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. See some photos of all the PINK below.

C.A.R.E.S Reward for October

Students worked hard during the month of October to show our core values. Together our students received 1,500 CARES coupons and earned a movie/game hour. Nice work!

Green Meadows Climate Corner

The purpose of the Green Meadows Climate team is to support social-emotional learning at Green Meadows through a positive school climate that reflects our CARES values-cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. An update from the Climate Team is provided each month in this newsletter. Our climate team meets monthly and includes the following staff members: Sharon Moberg, Principal, Andy Villamaino, Assistant Principal, Karyn Shaw, School Psychologist (Co-chair), Karen Gelinas, School Adjustment Counselor (Co-chair), Emily Shimansky, Special Education Teacher, Alex Baker, Physical Education Teacher, Amanda Shute, Kindergarten Teacher, Chris Jackman, First Grade Teacher, Laurie Sullivan, Third Grade Teacher, Beth Richards, Reading Specialist, and Donna Benard, School Adjustment Counselor.

This month, we will be including student representatives from our Student Council at our meeting. We are also interested in getting parent input and would like to begin this process by asking you to complete the survey below. Look for results in the December newsletter!
