Art Lessons
Art 1 did Shibori fabric dyeing with natural indigo dye. Shibori is an ancient method of Japanese fabric dyeing and the great grandmother of what we know as "tie dye."
Science Happenings
The Science Department has created many opportunities to creatively engage with students!
- Students in Matt Pyster's class are required to do a Quarter project where they research a topic of their choice within the class topic. Here is a piece of artwork of a Sea Angel, by Biology student Nevaeh Bostwick that was paired with her 7 minute presentation on bioluminescence and its purpose in living things.
- The Department hosted a "Science Fun Day", to inspire engagement in learning science by bringing our students together for some fun experimenting. Students Eli and Nola are testing the effects of Gatorade (or similar energy drinks) on their heartrate; Eli is hooked up to our new Vernier Interface equipment, equipment that we can use for a variety of experiments.

News from Track and Field
Part one of the Division 1 & 2 state track meet was held at Saint Johnsbury Academy this past Saturday. Only the top twelve in each division competed.
Sophomore Riley Tuttle placed 6th in the shot and senior Gavin Joy placed 10th. In the weight throw, Joy placed 7th, Tuttle 10th, and sophomore Justin Draper placed 12th. Tuttle’s 6th place finish in the shot gives Bellows Falls its first points leading into this weekend’s part two of the state meet at UVM, where the running and jumping events will be competed.
Excellent job to the indoor track and field team !
