Safety and Security Procedures

When ringing the bell for building access, please be prepared to state your student's name, the purpose of your visit, and/or show your ID before entering. All individuals, whether familiar to the office staff or not, will be required to comply with this for each visit.

Please also be patient as our office can be very hectic at times and while we will make every effort to lower your waiting time for entrance, there are times you will experience a delay until someone is available to take your information.

In addition, the elementary schools are preparing to begin using the Raptor system, currently used by the MS and HS, for visitors and volunteers. Please make sure you have a government issued ID with you any time you will be checking in to the building.

Thank you for helping us ensure our students' safety.

Health Reminders

It's the time of year where "a lot is going around." Please remember that students cannot return to school until the have been fever-free without medication for 24 hours. For seriousness illnesses, please contact our school nurse as a precaution for students with reduced immune systems. It is also always a good idea to remind your children to cough into their elbow, wash their hands often, and keep their hands away from their faces. Thank you.

Volunteer Reminders

When volunteering in the building please remain in the area you signed in for. If you need to move to another part of the building please stop in the main office first.

If you have a concern you need to discuss with a teacher, or guidance counselor, please contact them via phone or email to discuss your concerns or set up an appointment.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Garnet Valley CTC Quick Tip #22

The results are back from the 2017 Pennsylvania Youth Survey for Garnet Valley’s 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders. We also have results from 2013 and 2015 PAYS. The results of this anonymous survey are self-reported and represent 83.9% of our students.

Did you know? For Garnet Valley students in 2017, the most common depressed thought was “at times I think I am no good at all,” reported by 25.2% of students in this district. 23.2% of students reported they felt sad or depressed MOST days in the past 12 months. Overall, 10.9% of students had seriously considered attempting suicide, compared to 16.5% of students at the state level. There have been small decreases in the statistics above since 2013 and 2015, but we need to remain vigilant and ready to assist and support students.

Call to action… Help a phone call away. The Mobile Crisis Unit is free in Delaware County. They are a 24/7 service that can come to you and/or help over the phone @ 855-889-7827.

There are Student Assistance Teams in our Garnet Valley schools that can help. We have guidance counselors, our district Social Services Coordinator and Home and School Visitor and school psychologists. You can call the SAP Coordinator, Carolyn Falcone to access student assistance help @ 610-579-5186. Please don’t suffer in silence. See the hotlines and other resources below.
