Safety and Security Procedures
Please also be patient as our office can be very hectic at times and while we will make every effort to lower your waiting time for entrance, there are times you will experience a delay until someone is available to take your information.
In addition, the elementary schools are preparing to begin using the Raptor system, currently used by the MS and HS, for visitors and volunteers. Please make sure you have a government issued ID with you any time you will be checking in to the building.
Thank you for helping us ensure our students' safety.
If you have a concern you need to discuss with a teacher, or guidance counselor, please contact them via phone or email to discuss your concerns or set up an appointment.
Thank you for your cooperation!

3rd & 5th Grade Math Night
The GVES Home & School Association is very pleased to sponsor the sixth annual Math Night for 3rd and 5th grade students. This special night will be held at GVES’ Cafeteria (3rd Grade) and Gym (5th Grade) on Wednesday, January 30, from 7:00 to 8:15 pm.
The goal of this event is to encourage the love of math in our children by participating in some hands-on, challenging math activities, games and puzzles. There will be prizes and giveaways during the evening, so register now!
*3rd Grade students need an adult to accompany them. This is a drop off event for 5th grade students only.
*Given space constraints, siblings cannot attend.
*Space is limited to the first 60 students in each grade. Others will be put on a wait list and contacted if space becomes available.
*We need volunteers to make this event a success! If you would like to help with a station or check in, please contact Elizabeth Singh @ email@example.com for 3rd Grade or Cynthia Robinson @ firstname.lastname@example.org for 5th grade.

Garnet Valley CTC Quick Tip #22
The results are back from the 2017 Pennsylvania Youth Survey for Garnet Valley’s 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders. We also have results from 2013 and 2015 PAYS. The results of this anonymous survey are self-reported and represent 83.9% of our students.
Did you know? For Garnet Valley students in 2017, the most common depressed thought was “at times I think I am no good at all,” reported by 25.2% of students in this district. 23.2% of students reported they felt sad or depressed MOST days in the past 12 months. Overall, 10.9% of students had seriously considered attempting suicide, compared to 16.5% of students at the state level. There have been small decreases in the statistics above since 2013 and 2015, but we need to remain vigilant and ready to assist and support students.
Call to action… Help a phone call away. The Mobile Crisis Unit is free in Delaware County. They are a 24/7 service that can come to you and/or help over the phone @ 855-889-7827.
There are Student Assistance Teams in our Garnet Valley schools that can help. We have guidance counselors, our district Social Services Coordinator and Home and School Visitor and school psychologists. You can call the SAP Coordinator, Carolyn Falcone to access student assistance help @ 610-579-5186. Please don’t suffer in silence. See the hotlines and other resources below.
