Our Ohlone Family
March 19, 2021
Dear Ohlone Community,
The ongoing and recent racist violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has my heart heavy, angry, worried, and concerned for my family and all of our AAPI families. It goes without saying that we stand together as a community. Ohlone is strong and unwavering. If anyone needs anything at all, we are here for you.
Last Wednesday, we had a deep conversation in our BIPOC Affinity Group about the racist violence happening to Asian American and Pacific Islander families. If you identify as a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color, I invite you to join our BIPOC Group if you are looking for a space to feel heard, be seen, and feel connected. Our next meeting is Wednesday, April 14, 6:30pm.
Below are some additional resources as well as the link to my March 4th Community message. Please take care and stay well. I hope you enjoy time with your family this weekend. Join us for Farm Work Day if you want to feel connected with the flora and fauna :).

7-Day Racial Equity Challenge
Our district teacher librarian team developed this amazing 7-Day Racial Equity Challenge for you and your children. It is like the 21-Day Equity Challenge but for kids. It is truly fantastic. I am hoping that we can join together and focus on one day each week for the next seven weeks, starting next week. The link is below along with an information letter. We need this more than ever now.
Principal's EquiTea - March 24th 4:00-5:00pm
Brilliant Assistant Superintendent, Lana Conaway will join us for this month's long awaited Principal's Tea. We will be discussing equity and Ohlone and district efforts toward building an antiracist education for our students and community. If you did not have a chance to join the 21-Day Equity Challenge, you can access the incredible resources on the website here.
The Principal's Tea will be virtual of course and you will have to bring your own hot water and leaves. I will send the link next week!
