Charlie was named after his father who along with his wife was in the entertainment industry in England. His father left when he was young. Like his parents, Charlie joined the entertainment industry and eventually brought his comedy to the US.

Charlie Became very popular in his years of work however he did become less successful as he neared the end of his career. Being such a great actor that he was he influenced many others also seeing as he was not only known in England, but also in the US. Not only was he a comic actor, but also a writer, director, producer, and composer.
