Fort Sumter April 12-14th, 1861

The fiery battle at Fort Sumter at SC concluded yesterday with the Unions defeat. The confederacy came to the Fort on the 12th and led a cannon attack. However, no soldiers were killed but Maj. Anderson’s pride was greatly destroyed.

Antietam

A sad day was concluded today in Antietam. Maj. Gen. George B. McClellan was confronted by Robert E. Lees' army of 45,000. Fortunately Gen. George had an army of 87,000. We have not been confirmed a real winner. However, this war has been noted as the bloodiest battle so far. The death count is supposed to be around 27,000.

Vicksburg

Breaking news has recently given to us from Vicksburg. Ulysses S. Grant was successful with his attack on John C. Pemberton. We have been informed that the death toll his at 37,000. Fortunately, most of which were part on the Confederacy. Making the Union, victors once again.

Gettysburg

Very good news for the Union today. George G. Meade was successfully in the defense of Gettysburg. Robert E. Lee came into the northern town to promote fear in the Union. However, he was confronted by George's larger army and won. There was a total of about 51,000 casualties.

Battle of Atlanta (Sherman's March to the Sea)

Even more exciting news for the Union has just been brought up. William T. Sherman was successful with his attack with Brig. Gen. Thomas W. The two had led a surprise attack on John Bell Hood's left flank. This led to a Union Victory once again. There was about 9,000 causalities found at the battle site.

Fort Fisher

Maj. Gen. Alfred Terry and Maj. Gen. Robert Hooke met with a unfortunate surprise today. The two struggled to defend against Adm. David D. when he arrived in his fleet. We are untold of the casualties but, we are assuming they are high. The fort was taken over in a matter of 2 days by the Union forces.

Appomattox Court House

Today is a very exciting day for the Union. Gen. Ulysses S Grant met with Robert E. lee today to discuss the events of the war. Before this however, the two fought bitterly. But, The Union with 63,000 soldiers overpowered the Confederate's 26,000. Robert E. Lee soon surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant. We think this is a good turning point to signify the Confederates imminent downfall.
