EXAMS HAVE STARTED!!!
Please remember that exams will be taking place in school every day between now and the end of June. You can help your fellow students by remembering the following:
DO
- CHECK YOUR EXAM TIMETABLE - You should be at the exam at least 15 minutes before it starts.
- Watch out for "Quiet, Exam in Progress" signs and then, be quiet!
- Remember exams still take place during break and lunch times
- Keep the noise down in music rooms if your teacher asks you - there are lots of exams in E116
- Remember, this a really important time for students in your school
DON'T
- BE LATE. You may not be allowed to take the exam.
- Bang on the windows above the theatre - that interruption could ruin someone's concentration
- Interrupt an exam room - even if you think your lesson is supposed to be in there

GRAFITTIS WORK SHOP FOR POST 16
Press║Play
Press║Play is a new and exciting course combining graffiti and street art with the theme of music, culminating in the opportunity to paint the streets of Bristol with your own designs!
The course will be led by a professional graffiti artist, and will take place at The Station as well as at graffiti locations in central Bristol.
You will experiment with all aspects of graffiti art, from paint markers to spraycans, letter forms to characters, exploring the theme of ‘music’ and taking it in your own direction to create a unique piece of work. This truly is a hands-on project!
The course will also give you the chance to develop skills such as teamwork, planning and using different resources, with the opportunity to gain accreditation through your work.
Press║Play is FREE and open to all 16-24 year olds who are not in work, education and training.
Course starts: Tuesday 21st May, 1pm-4pm (for 9 weeks).

1. abase
To abase something or someone is to humiliate them really badly.
If you abase another person you are making them feel low.
2. Solemn
You can use it to describe anything that's really serious and dignified.
It could be a solemn ceremony or event.
Someone who is serious and sincere and maybe lacks a sense of humour about certain things.
3. Feigned
"Not genuine," like your feigned interest in your friends' discussion of celebrity hairstyle trends.
The word feigned, pronounce "faynd," comes from the Old French word feign, "pretend, imitate”.
You act like you care but you really don't.
“Baba nodded and gave a thin smile that conveyed little more than feigned interest.” from Khaled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner,"
4. Enshrine
If your mother enshrines your first drawing, she might frame it and hang it in a special place, as if it were a holy relic. To enshrine is to put something special, often religious, into a protective place.
A shrine is a place considered holy because something special happened there or a case that holds sacred items.
