Class Connection

ePortfolios
These kids never cease to amaze me. They have worked so hard and been so patient with setting up ePortfolios in their canvas account. Each student has placed his or her research digital book in their portfolio. Ask them to pull out a device and show it to you!
Where are we in history?
We are finishing up our discussion of the key battles of the Revolution. Our assessment will be this Wednesday. The notes are all on Canvas.
Astronomy
Today we took our assessment on shadows and telescopes. This group is on top of it all. They did a great job with this unit. Tomorrow we will move into the moon phases. Students are always fascinated by this topic. It is important that students remember that the moon DOES NOT produce its on light. We see the moon due to the light being reflected from the Sun.
Fractions, Fractions, Fractions!
WOW!!!!! Multiplying fractions....CHECK!!!! This group has it! We will move into converting measurements.
Valentine's Day Celebration
Your student should have a class list in their agenda. The only thing I ask is that if your child brings in one card, they bring for the whole class. I do not want anyone to feel left out! Also, thank you all for sending in your items for our nacho lunch. You will not need to send a lunch with your student on Friday. Also, please do not plan on eating lunch with your student this day. We will be eating in our classroom and will not eat at our normal lunch time.

Stay Connected
We have worked very hard to make use of our one-to-one technology. If your student does not take a device home, they can still stay connected if there is some type of electronic they can use at home. Your child can visit Canvas and go into any course they wish to view or work in. Each student is placed into a reading group course that is individualized just for their group.
