Presented by Dr. Edward Lowther, NAEA Regional II Director, VA; Ms. Denise Riley, NAEA Regional 6 Director, OK; and Mr. Tim Morrow, Principal, Antietam Academy, Hagerstown, MD
In this session you will examine your program with a rubric that can take your program from good to great and on to stardom. Alternative education CANNOT aord to settle for “good enough.” Come join us as we discuss the Exemplary Practices in detail and discuss the Exemplary Practices Rubric. We will examine our individual programs with the newly developed rubric that is designed using research-based NAEA Exemplary Practices. At last, we have an authentic assessment to help you evaluate your program’s performance or to help you build a great program. The rubric is based on the sum of a range of criteria, not a single measure. You will also hear from a pilot program that has been using the rubric as their guide for the past two years. The program will share their experiences as well as their lessons learned. Come join us as we make alternative education shine as the bright star that it is.
