Tornado Forecast of Upcoming Events
November 6th: Late start for students.
- School begins for students at 8:30 am.
- Student transportation will operate under normal timelines.
- Students who arrive before 8:20, will be required to stay in the cafeteria, the main lobby, or the library to work on class assignments quietly.

November 22nd: Deadline for Graduation Cap & Gown orders

Come out and support the Anoka Theatre Department and see their Fall production of Treasure Island. Shows run November 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 at 7 pm and November 5 at 2 pm.

Anoka High School Invites military veterans and the larger community to its annual Veterans Day Assembly, this Friday, November 10th from 7:40 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. All are welcome to join us for this event.
This year’s keynote speaker is Sergeant Major Kevin L. Shepherd. Sergeant Major Shepherd's first active duty post was with the 22nd Maintenance Company, part of 7th Corps in Heilbronn, Germany. He was there for the fall of the Berlin Wall, went to Desert Storm and then returned to Germany. We are excited to have Sergeant Major Shepherd as our speaker this year. Principal Mike Farley, a Navy veteran, will also address students and the wider community. Student Council President Hannah DeRungs and National Honors Society President Whitley Jones will make various presentations, informing attendees about the flag, recognizing veterans and explaining the wreath-laying ceremony. Band, choir, and orchestra ensembles will perform multiple numbers. TAPS will be played by students Zachary Davis and Christopher Surratt . The 45 minute assembly begins at 7:40 am., and all are welcome.
Schedule Changes for Trimester 2 or 3
If you would like to request a change to your Tri 2 or 3 schedule, please click this link to review the criteria and steps to follow. Students must submit all schedule change requests using the Schedule Change Request Form during the November 15 - December 1 window.
If the change can be made, it will show on your class schedule tab in Student Vue. If the change cannot be made, your counselor will email you. Please check both Student Vue and your email for updates after submitting the request form.
Anoka Volleyball is set to compete at the State Tournament!
Congratulations to the Anoka Volleyball team who won 7AAAA in convincing fashion by defeating Coon Rapids, Blaine and Forest Lake in the finals all in straight sets. Their overall season record is 26-3. They will compete at the state tournament on Wednesday and Thursday at EXCEL Center in St. Paul with times to be determined this weekend.

Graduation Cap and Gown Deadline is coming up! Due by Nov. 22nd, 2023
Seniors you must order now in order to have your cap and gown for the graduation commencement ceremony. Please follow this link AHS Graduation to order your cap, gown, announcements, and accessories. Senior families are responsible for each student's personal orders.

Second Annual Education, Employment, and Enlistment Palooza!
The Anoka-Hennepin Career and College Specialists are excited to be hosting our second annual Education, Employment, and Enlistment Palooza on Saturday, December 9th from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. This event will highlight a variety of career and college planning options for students and families. The format will include a mix of scheduled sessions and open fair times. Click here for more information.

Karl Benson, with 100 Black Men of the Twin Cities, is organizing HBCU College Fairs at Central High School on Thursday, November 16. All are welcome to attend.
Latine Youth with Stethoscopes Youth Summit Saturday, December 2, 2023

At the Latine Youth with Stethoscopes Youth Summit, you will:

ASVAB Saturday, December 9, 2023
If you're serious about joining the military, then get serious about the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense.
FAFSA December 2023
The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is set to open in December 2023. The US Department of Education has informed the public that there are significant changes coming to the form, in hopes to simplify it for students and families. We will continue to update you as we know more. Please reference this financial aid site for additional resources regarding financial aid events, the FAFSA, MN Dream Act, and more.

OHE to Host Free Virtual Financial Aid Events
Kicking off the new school year, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota Department of Education, ECMC's The College Place Minnesota, and Minnesota Goes to College are hosting a series of financial aid webinars for Minnesota students and families as they prepare for the college-going process. All sessions will have simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, Somali, Hmong. Karen. Attendees will be entered to win a $500 scholarship.
