Have a great week!
- Happy Birthday this week to Christa Melrose (Tuesday) and Monica Jordan (Saturday). I hope you both have amazing birthday weeks!
- As we prepare for our last day of instructional rounds next week, I would like your help to collect some of the data we use to evaluate our building goals. I am asking that all teachers visit at least 5 classrooms this week and fill out this Google Form. https://forms.gle/i27NXnRFTec2DnCM9 You can gather all of the data on the form in 3-5 minutes so they don't take long at all. You can visit regular classrooms, Title rooms, Intervention classrooms, SpeciaIs classes, EL classes, etc., but I would recommend visiting rooms outside of your grade level/area. During instructional rounds, the grade-level chairs who have participated in this practice have really enjoyed this experience and shared how impactful this was for them. Please expect for visitors in your room this week. In exchange for your time, we will not have a staff meeting next Wednesday morning. Next week is incredibly busy anyways with Math/Science night and Student of the Month breakfast.
- As we prepare for Math/Science night next Thursday, please make sure you let Wendy know if there are any supplies you need. I appreciate all of you who are helping out to put on this fun and educational night for our families.
- Reminder that author Diana Perry will be here this coming Friday for grade-level science/weather assemblies. The assemblies do not cost us anything, but we are encouraging students to purchase her books.
- Please be aware that Ramadan begins today and many of our Muslim students will be fasting until Eid al-Fitr on April 10th. We can make accommodations for students who do not want to be in the cafeteria during lunch, but typically our students have chosen to remain with their friends in the cafe. Please talk with our EL staff or Brian or Kurt if you have specific student concerns.
- Next week is the district art show. We have a plan in place for students to walk over and we will be sending out a sign-up form to choose your time.
- Currently, we have about 20 open elementary positions with over 50 internal applicants. Brian, Michelle and I will be extremely busy interviewing this week as we have been asked to get all of these done by March 18th.
- This week, our 2nd graders will take the InView test on Tuesday while 4th graders will test on Thursday. This test is used to identify students who are superior cog.
- This Wednesday is a records day for all of you. The hours for the day are 8:00am-3:00pm.
- This weekend, our amazing high school theatre department will be performing The Wedding Singer. There are several former South students who are in the musical.
