The Weekly Hoot

October 28 - November 3, 2013

Greetings All -

Well, it is Sunday night and I am just getting to the Hoot! It has definitely been one of "those" weeks as I alluded to in the last Hoot. Thank all of you for a wonderful Red Ribbon Week and Fall Festival. I am glad it all worked out so well for the students, but I am also glad it is over! LOL!

Along those lines, I don't know if anyone else felt this way, but I will say that last week nearly had me to my breaking point. I try very hard to always be a positive person and not complain, but you can ask the two Jennifers, and they will tell you, last week I even pitched a little "hissy fit!" It seems like we had a "perfect storm" of deadlines and stresses with Red Ribbon Week, Fall Festival, PEIMS reporting, report cards, SLO deadlines, Aware issues, Hooty Store, AR Parties, and various other fires to put out. By about Wednesday, I felt like I could not take one more thing. Somehow, however, things got done. I feel like many of you are feeling this way right now. Please know that we are all right there with you. I will never say that anyone is more stressed than another because none of us know exactly what stresses each person has. I do know one thing, however. None of us are alone in any of this. Please remember that everything we are attempting at school this year is a learning process for all of us. Change is hard, and it is messy, but that does not mean that it is always bad.

I appreciate everyone's "can do" attitude about most of what you are being asked to do. Please know that you can come to me when needed. I may not always have the answer you are looking for, but I can promise you that I will listen and try to help you through your stresses. You all are an amazing group of educators! I am proud to work with each of you and I want you to know that I will ALWAYS consider your needs as well as the needs of our students.

Let's have a great week!
