Music Concert!
Many thanks for your support in the lead-up to, and during, the end of term concert.
Especially to Danny, Mark, Karen, Azhar, Pip, James, Sabina, Craig, Alan & Romik, Michaela, David Nixon, Hamzah & the electrofitters (good name for a band?), the Teach Firsters and everyone who came to cheer us on, as well as those who cheerfully released students for rehearsals. Sorry if we forgot anyone!

Year 7
Tyisha Khan for producing an excellent stretch board. Her presentation was factual, it had depth and had the audience hanging on to her every word.
Year 8
Muhammad Iilyan Zafar 8.6 - For representing all the boys in year 8 in the stretch final for cycle 2 - well done!
Mariam Waheed 8.7 - After only being here for 1 week, she has been able to try her best to catch up on any missing work and also shown diligence in taking in all of the new knowledge. She has displayed the schools values throughout her first week and has settled into life at DKA. She has contributed in form time by leading a Do Now and also gathering Good News for students in the class.

Ashab Imran 9Ox1: Outstanding diligence in receiving 0 behaviour points, 58 positives and 100% attendance across this term.

Abu-Faizan and Mohamed Ishaq: Superb effort and results in spelling test.
Umair Manzoor (8.3) for being the best student in 8A/IT3 across this term in his IT lessons.

Year 10 Business Studies Students:
Maadiya Shah – for putting in 100% effort and adopting an extremely diligent attitude in recent months despite initially finding the subject difficult. She has worked incredibly hard and is on track to achieve above her target grade.
Sara Ali, Kajal Parekh, Summayah Kara, Taybah Khan, Laila Iqbal, Huma Mahmood, Juwariah Tariq, Khadijah Ahmed, Maya Nimra, Momina Hussain, Bismah Mahmood and Rukhsar Ahmed – all for putting in 100% effort in to their controlled assessment. Showing real diligence in ensuring their work is completed to the highest possible standard – well done!
Shayaan Latif – for always helping to bring the laptop trolley to the lesson and ensuring other students are provided with the laptops before he sits down with one himself! Civility in practice!

I would like to appreciate Mrs Jarret for volunteering to deliver an English lesson to a Year 10 class on such short notice.

The Academy will close on Friday 7 April for the Easter Break and reopen on Monday 24 April 2017. Students will be expected to be in school and ready to start learning at 8am.
