OTSEGO LOCAL SCHOOLS
Superintendent's Weekly Update - October 26, 2018
Mark your calendars now and plan a night together as a family!
Otsego will once again be having a “family night” this fall. It will be on Wednesday, November 14th. The goal of Family Night is to encourage families to take the evening to focus on each other and spend time together as a family in whatever way works for your family. There will be NO homework, assignments or tests the next day. There will also be NO athletic practices or any other extra-curricular activities on family night. We hope you can take advantage of this night and celebrate being a family!
If you use twitter and would like to post pictures or comments about the Otsego Family Night please use #FamKnight
A few ideas to get you started thinking about your evening together.
Games: Play your favorite family board game or card game
Dinner: Plan a meal together and cook together
Memories: Look through old photos and family videos
Get Creative: Create an art project, crafts, or build something as a family
Get Fit: If the weather is nice, go for a long walk in a park as a family

If you would like to participate in funding this project it’s not too late! We are still excepting donations of any amount until October 31. A $100 donation gets recognition on a plaque.
Checks can be made to OMB and mailed to the school office attention Music Boosters. Thank you for your support!

Otsego Angel Tree
Otsego Elementary Angel Tree
Again this year, we are hoping to make the holiday season a little brighter for some of our students whose families are facing hard times due to various reasons.
If you would like to help, please stop by the Angel Tree that will be set up in the commons during parent/teacher conferences. You can choose an angel from the tree to buy a gift(s) for, sign your name and phone number on the sign out log, and return the gift(s) by December 5th to the elementary office. Each angel will have a child’s age, gender, clothing size, and interests in order to assist someone in selecting a special gift(s) for that child.
If you or an organization you represent would wish to make donations (toys, clothing, or money) without actually choosing an angel, please bring those items to the elementary office and we will make sure the items are dispersed.
We would like to have all donations of gifts into the elementary office by Wednesday, December 5th to ensure we get them delivered to the students before Christmas break.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
