frequently asked fee questions
2. What is the postage fee for? This helps offset the cost of mailed information such as registration packets, report cards, etc. that have been necessary during the pandemic.
3. What is the instructional donation? This donation is for instructional supplies such as classroom library books, math resources and games, basic supplies such as paper, pens, markers, art supplies, classroom magazine subscriptions, craft supplies for parent mementos, printer cartridges, and computer software. We may also use these funds to purchase student rewards and incentives. This goes directly to the classrooms and allows teachers more flexibility with purchases than with the state funds they receive.
4. Where is the yearbook charge? We are waiting to see what our yearbook will be like and the cost since everything we are doing this year is different!
5. What is Storyworks or Scholastic News? In 1st - 5th grades, we use classroom magazines to supplement our reading instruction. These are high interest for our students and come with a digital component. We appreciate the help since these are cost prohibitive for just the school to purchase them for our students.
6. My fees seem less this year. What is the difference? Last year, we collected all field trip fees at the same time as registration fees. This year, we will collect field trip fees at the time of the trip if we are able to have any field trips.
7. My child doesn't have a Chromebook, so do I need the protection plan? All students in K-5 will be issued a Chromebook soon. We are still waiting on the K-2nd grade devices. We are unsure if you will be able to pay for the protection plan later in the year. If you do not have the protection plan and your child's device gets damaged, you will be charged for the repair.
8. What is the additional donation? Prior to last year, our suggested donation was $50. We changed it to $25 to be more aligned to other elementary schools in the district. Some families may want to add the additional donation to help our school.
