Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 7 Computing

Our PCSO completed workshops this week with Year 9 students highlighting knife crime.
GCSE Art Students

Stars of the Week:
- Miss Connellan has nominated Bethany 9C, Jack 9S and A-Jay 9T for excellent work in English. Also nominated is Rhys 11C for excellent effort and attendance in English revision sessions.
- Miss Longhurst has nominated the Year 9 Historians for their excellent on the Vietnam War topic.
- Miss Fenner has nominated Kayleigh 12H for her excellent work on article writing and
Logan 11C for his attitude, effort and progress in English literature. - Mr Gourlay would like to say well done to Year 7 who have done a brilliant job in their first use of text based programming languages in Computing.
- Miss Watt has nominated Ianis and Holly 7CO for amazing speaking performances in German.
- Mr Cox has nominated 9C and 9S Drama students for an excellent lesson exploring the text Our Day Out and also Maddie 9S for overcoming her fears and performing an amazing monologue.
- Mr Horne has nominated Indira and Annabelle 9C for great sketching of quadratic functions in Maths.
- Mr Harley has nominated Mason 9 for his extracurricular work (designing a robot wars robot) in Design and Technology and Kieran 10T for his resilience in completing his sweet dispenser (staying on for session 6).
- Mrs Morgan has nominated Randy 11T and Tyrell 11C for their dedication to the exam preparation in Art.
- Mrs Ferns has nominated Elijah 11S for his hard work in Maths.
- Mr Krawczynski has nominated Aleksander 9S for trying his best and tackling the more challenging questions in Maths.
Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Whole school attendance this week is 94.27%, not far off our target of 95.5%.
Best Tutor Group
Well done to Mr Horne, 7CA and Mr Cooper 10C, both tutor groups have 100% attendance this week.
House Winner
C House are the best house again this week with 96.5%, well done to Cayley and Coleman.
Reminders:
- Year 7 Progress Evening will take place on Wednesday 11th April 2018. A letter will be given to all students containing the login details to make appointments.
- Year 8 Options Evening will take place on Wednesday 18th April with sessions at 5.15pm and 6.30pm. Letters will be given to all students.
