Different Colors
One of the lessons I took away from that story was that everyone has a special talent or gift, and that even though we may do things differently than someone else, we still have a purpose...we all make a significant and necessary contribution.
Coming up soon, we will began our PLC's and perhaps you might see those different gifts and purposes during your collaboration time. Some of us may be "big picture" thinkers - those who can envision a way or an outcome. Those big idea people may need to rely on the contributions of those of us who are "detail thinkers" - the ones who give shape and structure -maybe even outlines- to the pictures others are painting.
I am so thankful that here at OSE, we have so many different types of crayons! We have dreamers, and we have craftsmen. We have careful sketchers and vivid artists. We have analytic thinkers and we have those who dance on the outer edge, adding color to our details and spark to our pages. And together, we are creating a beautiful picture of learning!
When we all work together to design profound learning experiences for kids, we each leave beautiful and much needed color on the pages of their lives. Our picture would not be complete without the contributions of us all.
