It's hard to believe the first 6 weeks is already over. In my 16th year, I believe this is the best start I've ever experienced. Great experiences have little to do with policy, procedures or mandates...they have to do with people working together toward a common goal. In any given day, we have over 500 people who grace our campus and strive to make it a better place. Let's continue that into the second 6 weeks.
Mindset Monday is coming up tomorrow. We should be on lesson 1.3: Think Positive.
There will be no grade level meetings this week.
Grades will be pulled at 8 Tuesday. There should be no new assignments added to this six weeks as of 4:00 Friday. Any new assignments should go on the second 6 weeks. This grade pull will impact eligibility...meaning students who are failing will become ineligible until progress report 2. Comb over your grades and make sure they are accurate. There should be no grades ending in a 9...especially a 69. These grades need to be right.
Wednesday is a long work day. If you haven't yet you should invite parents to visit with you during the day. We will work 8-6. We will have some professional learning at 10. Besides time for learning, this should be a day for parent contact. Make it a goal to reach out to every parent on that day...even if they can't make it. Keep a parent log of visitors to turn in to the office. I will share one out if you don't have one.
