Gator Greetings
Our 3rd Graders performed a wonderful and heartfelt Veteran’s Day Program yesterday. Thank you to Ms. Krupa, AV’s talented music teacher, for coordinating a great program. Thank you to anyone in our extended Allisonville family that served in the armed forces – we honor you! To check out the performance as well as the Veteran’s Day slide show, please click on the links later in the Gazette.
Thanks also to the many special guests who visited Allisonville yesterday for VIP Day. It was so wonderful to welcome families back into the building. Our special guests and students had fun at a variety of stations that included bookmark making, then-and-now game, selfie station, frame making, and personal interview. We have included many photos of the event for you to enjoy. A special thanks to our amazing AV PTO volunteers who helped make the day a success!
Today marks the middle of the 2nd quarter. Next week teachers will send home mid-term reports for parents to see how their child is progressing. It will also be our last week before Thanksgiving Break and when we return, there will be four weeks left until the end of the semester. As they say, time flies by when you are having fun! Also, don’t forget that next week there is an Early Release Day on Thursday, November 18th for teacher professional development. Students will release at 2:15 pm on Thursday.
We look forward to several special events before our November break. 5th Grade will be visiting BizTown, and 3rd Grade will go on a walking tour of downtown Indy. 4th Grade is learning all about energy in science with hands-on light bulb experiments. Kindergarteners are practicing their Superpowers as Super Readers. Today, we had 1st Grade on a scavenger hunt around the building searching for clues using the reading strategies they have been learning.
Every week we are proud that, We Are The Gators! WE ARE AV!

At Allisonville, we value the home-school partnership and look forward to your family-caregiving feedback.
