Curriculum Updates:
- Music: We wrapped up our year by examining best practices in assessment and classroom management for music classes. In addition, teachers each shared a lesson, resource, or activity they have used that others may benefit from.
- Health Enhancement: Another PIR opportunity is coming. It will be held on Sat. April 6th from 9:00-3:00 at Helena Flats School.
- IEFA: The IEFA committee will meet on Tues. March 19, from 8:30-3:30. We will discuss best practices in integrating Indian Education for All in multiple subjects as well as choosing a focus for which to concentrate for the 2019-2020 school year.
Other:
- Award Nominations for Teacher Appreciation Evening: We are now accepting award nominations for Teacher Appreciation through March 22nd. We will be awarding individuals in the following categories: Extra Mile Educator (teachers), Rookie of the Year (newer teachers), Couldn't Do it Without You (classified staff), and Got Your Back (school board trustee). - Participation agreements for the 2019-2021 term are now available to be signed by member schools. Participation Agreement Form

FLATHEAD WATERSHED THROUGH THE SEASONS-FOUR SEASONS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT-ONLY 12 SPACES

Event Information
Supporting LGBTQ Students in Classrooms and the Community
EmpowerMT, which does trainings across the state around creating inclusive environments, will be providing this 2-hour training at Glacier High School at no cost to teachers. This session is #8130 on PIR Net. Participants can earn 2 hours PIR credit or 2 OPI renewal units.
Participants will learn:
- Terms and language around LGBTQ issues
- How to build a climate of respect and inclusion
- Tools for ending prejudice within a student body
- Responding to prejudicial remarks and/or behaviors from staff and students
- Ideas for policies and practices that support LGBTQ students
