April 2019 Staff Newsletter
From Frank
As we enter Spring, we certainly begin to wrap our minds around the coming end to another school year. I fully appreciate and value all you will do in the waning days of the year to keep your students engaged in meaningful learning activities. Central to that is leaning on the deep relationships you have worked all year to develop and nurture.
As I have communicated, the Board has approved Option #1 of the Master Facility Plan which involves a rebuild of EHG and SJH, renovation of SHS, upgrade of our elementary with emphasis on Symmes to facilitate a preschool expansion. Also, a new stadium will be constructed on the HS campus if we are able to secure partial private funding. As we move forward with our future conversations with the community within a campaign, I will certainly keep you posted and may ask for your assistance with our message. I would encourage you to refer to the Master Facilities tab on our website for the most up to date information related to this.
Thank you to each and every one of you for your engagement during our April 22 PD Day. Having facilitated a COPE session at Maple Dale, I was struck by the investment of each and every member of our staff who opened their heart and mind to become more aware and empathetic to our students who may be experiencing economic fatigue. Our inclusive practices are a central priority as we try to minimize the barriers our students bring to their learning environments each day. Many, many thanks to the Staff Development Committee for their passion and hard work for putting together a day that helps all of us become a little better in our practice each and every day.
Finally, please know that what you do with every one of your students and the impact you have is noticed, felt and truly appreciated by our community. It is an honor to witness the lengths by which each of you will reach a child, partner with a parent, and/or collaborate with a colleague. You are the best, and I am so grateful for your service.
