Florida Groin
This is a photo of a groin in Boynton Beach Florida on November 28th.The groin is stopping the sand from continuing down the beach and causing the beach to grow.
Florida Waves
In this photo there are waves crashing onto the beach. I am on gulf steam beach in Boynton Beach Florida on November 28th.I notice the crests and trough of the waves. I also notice the swash and backwash on the beach.
Florida Beach
This is a photo of the Steam Gulf Beach in Boynton Beach Florida on November 28th. I notice the backwash and sawsh caused by the waves on the beach.
Florida Sand Dune
This sand dune is a parabolic sand dune because the open side faces the wind. The sediment is carried by the wind and is dropped in a crescent shape and the open faces the wind.
V-shaped Valley
I know that the Hudson valley is a v-shaped valley because of the river cut through the rock. The river is beginning to have a wider flood plain but the valley still has its v shape. I know this valley was not cut by a glacier because the sides of the valley do not curve into a u shape.
U-Shaped Valley
This is a u-shaped valley near Roanoke Virginia. This means a glacier cut through the land to form it. I know that it is not a v-shaped valley because there is no river to cut through the land.
Hudson River
This is a photo of the Hudson river on November 26th. The Hudson is a mature River because it has a slow velocity but not as slow as a old river and it also has begun to start meandering.
Meander
This photo shows one of the meanders in the Hudson river. The sediment is being deposited on the outer edge of the curve. This causes the meander to grow larger.
Glacier Cirque
This is a photo of a cirque in Oneonta New York. this cirque filled up with water and has now become a lake. the surrounding land has signs of glacier movement.
Small Flood Plain
This is a photo of a small flood plain in Orlando Florida. I know this is a small flood plain because this is a youthful stream. The water has a high velocity and has not meandered yet.
