School Hours:

School in-session: 8:00am - 3:00pm

AM Carpool: 7:30am - 8:00am

PM Carpool: 3:00pm - 3:30pm

Office Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm

ARRIVAL

As a reminder, we strongly urge our families to arrive on time to school. Carpool ends at 8:00am, and classes begin promptly thereafter. Arriving late disrupts the classes, and students miss out on important academic time.

Students arriving after carpool hours will need to be check-in at the office. Please park your vehicle and escort your child into the school to complete this process.

DISMISSAL

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, there will be a no-entry window during our afternoon carpool.

Early Checkouts will not be allowed after 2:00 pm.

Please remember to have your permanent car rider tag or temporary tag visible on your windshield during your entire drive through carpool. We must see an official tag issued by New Life Academy of Excellence. Otherwise, we will need to verify your identification before a student can be released to your car. For our students' safety, we will not release students through verbal car rider number identification, or through pictures of the tag. Thank you for your understanding!

ILLNESS

In the event that your child is sick, please do not send them to school. Your child must be free from fever for 24 hours before they may return.

If your student needs to take medication at school, the parent/guardian will need to transport the medication to the school office, along with a clinic form to be kept on file.

DRESS CODE

Parents, please make sure your student arrives to school in dress code. Violations will be noted and communicated home. We are seeing violations mostly with the use of non-uniform outerwear (hoodies) and shoes.

We strongly recommend purchasing uniforms now to ensure your student has the uniform items needed for the school year!

At New Life Academy of Excellence, a uniform policy is in place to maintain our goal of consistency.

**In the event that your student does not have the New Life Academy of Excellence school uniform due to vendor backorders, students may wear a white or burgundy polo (unmonogrammed), khaki bottoms, black belt, black shoes, with solid white/black/burgundy socks.

All students should be in dress code NLAE uniforms by September 30, 2023.

The New Life Academy of Excellence School Nutrition Program invites all families to submit a Free/Reduced Lunch Application every year.

If you have not received a written letter (email or paper) from the New Life Academy of Excellence School Nutrition Department regarding Direct Certification for your household, we strongly encourage you to fill out a Free/Reduced Lunch application.

*IMPORTANT*

The New Life Academy of Excellence School Nutrition Program operates independently from Gwinnett County Public Schools Nutrition Program. Please make sure your eligibility letter is from New Life Academy of Excellence, not Gwinnett.

Don't wait, apply now online!

It's never too late to fill out an application! Paper applications have been mailed out and will be available at the school office.

However, the online application is a quick and easy way to complete this process:

Free/Reduced Lunch Application Online

*Once school has started, charges to the student meal accounts will continue until the application has been submitted and, if applicable, changes the eligibility of the student. All charges until the application is processed is the responsibility of the parent/guardian of the student and must be paid to the school nutrition program.

**Students will be allowed up to two (2) meal charges before an alternative meal is served.

Please check MyPaymentsPlus to confirm that your student's account has been replenished for the new school year to avoid any charges on your account.

Lunch Prices:

Full Pay: $3.50

Reduced: $0.40

Packed Lunches:

Students may always choose to bring a packed lunch to school.
Please do not send lunches that require heating. We recommend using insulated lunch boxes/bags with ice packs, as we cannot provide refrigeration for student use.
Soda cans and glass containers are not permitted.

Dietary Restrictions

Students with a dietary restriction will need a form on file with the School Nutrition Department. Vegetarian meals are available daily through our new lunch service company. However, a document must be filed in order to receive these meals.

When registering, please choose our school, New Life Academy of Excellence, NOT Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). Accounts under GCPS will not transfer to New Life Academy of Excellence, and a refund will have to be processed by contacting GCPS.

There will be specified dates on our school calendar when students may wear Spirit Wear T-shirts. These shirts may be worn with black or blue jean pants/shorts.
