Cub Pride! Get to Know Our Staff
Meet Mrs. Henderson
Ms. Henderson was born in formally known Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic). Her family moved here to get away from the communist government. She had to say her good byes to her relatives still living in a small town called Kutna Hora. Living in a suppressive country and then given freedom once she moved here has given her hope and inspiration. She did not speak English and was very poor when she got here. She worked hard and kept education her first priority. Now she has more than she could ever dream of when you compare life in a communist country. She is married to her best friend, James, who always has a smile no matter how bad a situation gets. She was inspired to be a science teacher when she was young. She does not remember her name anymore, but she will always remember how engaged she was in her class. She loved learning about frogs and how their organs worked. Ms. Henderson made it her goal to be like her teacher and for the past 7 years she has been her!

NATIONAL CUSTODIAL WORKER’S RECOGNITION DAY
On October 2nd National Custodial Worker’s Recognition Day is a day set aside to show appreciation to men and women who keep our schools and workplaces across the nation running smoothly.
Custodial workers operate behind the scenes and are often under-appreciated for the hard work they do day after day keeping schools, hospitals, office buildings, museums, churches and other buildings clean and well maintained.
Here at AMS we have an awesome custodial staff so when you see them in the hallways or in your classroom, let them know how much we appreciate them.
New Gymnasium
Construction on our new gym is set to start this week. The construction company will begin fencing off the work area. I have met with coach Lupton and the PE department and athletics will have a plan to access the field house and the field adjacent to the work site. Students should not be in or around the work site at any time. Please make sure you monitor your students if you happen to be outside with them. Once the work begins we will mention student expectations to them on CNN.
