Field Trip Last Week
We had a great time on our field trip to the Bartholomew County Historical Museum last Tuesday! The students were able to learn about different inventions/passions that have been used to make the world a better place. They also got to make an ornament while we were there! Thank you to all of you who were able to go with us on this field trip!
Homework
Homework did go home last Friday and will be due this Friday, December 16. New homework will not be going home this Friday due to the short week next week. The next homework packet will go home the first week back after Winter Break.
eLearning Days
As colder weather approaches it is time to start thinking about snow days! The link below leads to a survey about eLearning days. If you filled this survey out last year and have no changes from last year then you do NOT need to fill this form out again. If you did not fill out the form last year or do have changes from last year please click on the link below and fill out the survey.
Bringing Toys to School
If you see your child bringing a toy or pokemon cards to school please remind them that these items are not allowed in the classroom. The pokemon cards in particular are becoming a big distraction and causing arguments among students.
Bringing Chromebooks Home
In the next few weeks before Winter Break your child may be bringing home their chromebook. Each time your child brings home their chromebook they must bring it back to school the next morning. In order for your child to bring home their chromebook the school must have a copy of a signed permission form. If you have questions about why your child is or is not bringing their chromebook home please feel free to email either of us!
Math & Language Arts
In math and language arts this week we are taking the INSPECT Test. This is the same test your child took in August. Please make sure your child is getting good sleep this week and eats a good breakfast each morning!
Logging into Student Accounts
If you would like to see all the hard work your child does at school you can login to their Google account or their Itslearning account from home. Considering winter is just around the corner this is very important to learn how to get around the Google world. Plus, this is a great way to help your child. I'm sure they would love to share what they are learning!
Here is the pattern:
first two digits are the child's graduation year (which for 2nd graders is 27)
then their last name and first initial
For example itslearning is 27brillr (some of these have different variations if the last name is a common name)
Google example 27brillr@students.bcsc.k12.in.us
Their passwords pattern
Thier six digit student identification plus bcsc
All of the 2nd graders know their regular passwords for the other apps and learning tools but if you need help please feel free to text me on Remind101.
