The first morning of each course set features a common half-day keynote session
in Jamrich Hall on the campus of NMU (8:00 a.m. 11:30)
Following the keynote session, participants spend the afternoon (12:30 - 3:30) and following full day (8:00 - 3:30) in focused course content of their choosing.
Lunch is "on your own" each day (11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
*3:30 to 4:00 p.m. is time set aside by the instructor to confer with participants individually or in small groups or to expand upon topics.
Dr. Dipesh Navsaria- Monday Keynote Session
A dynamic speaker who easily translates basic science and clinical medicine for a wide variety of audiences in order to shape programs and policy, Dr Dipesh Navsaria lectures locally, regionally and nationally on early literacy, early brain and child development, child health advocacy and technology.
Dr Navsaria is a pediatrician working in the public interest. He blends the roles of physician, occasional children's librarian, educator, public health professional and child health advocate. With graduate degrees in public health, children’s librarianship, physician assistant studies, and medicine, he brings a unique combination of interests and experience together.

Kristina Ishmael - Wednesday Keynote Session
Prior to her work at the U.S. Dept. of Ed, she worked as the Digital Learning Specialist for the Nebraska Dept. of Ed. This experience granted her a unique perspective on deploying educational technology to provide equitable access and opportunities in urban, suburban, and rural school systems. Kristina has also taught high risk ELL students,, second grade and kindergarten students.
