A Message from our AG Teacher
My name is Megan James. I have been teaching for six years will my background being in Agricultural Science. My education journey began in high school when I had a teacher that taught me my 504 needs do not dictate what I can and can not do; but yet, how much better I can be.
I come from a long line of "you can do anything you set your mind to". With that being my mindset, a couple years ago , I was told that females do not teach shop class. So, I did everything I could to become a shop teacher and master welding at all levels.
This year, I was brought into CityLab as the Energy and Natural Resource Teacher. We are chartering a National FFA chapter here at CityLab High School. FFA motto is "Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to Live and Living to serve". I try to display those words and live by those words in and out of the classroom.
Did you know CityLab has an active practicum program that you enroll in senior year as your final class for CTE? In the fall, you finalize your education in your pathway; and in the spring, you are placed in a practicum using your pathway knowledge.

FFA Officer Team Our FFA officer team went to a jump start academy hosted by two state FFA officer members to learn how to start and grow a chapter. | Hydroponics Wall Our Students are each given a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE). This is one students project to maintain the. hydroponics wall. Growing lettuce, snow peas, and other vegetables. | Advanced Energy and Natural Resources SEL Our district has Social Emotional Leaning (SEL) lessons each Wednesday and this is our class team working to get over and imaginative pond of chocolate. They learned how important it is to lean on each other to complete a task and how each students skills are unique but together complete the drawing! |
