Liberty Lake Patriot Press

Welcome back, Patriots!
Welcome back, Liberty Lake Elementary students and families! I hope your winter break was filled with joy and relaxation. As we reunite for the start of a new year, I am thrilled to see the smiling faces of our students back in the hallways. The second half of the school year brings fresh opportunities for learning and growth. Let's embark on this journey together, building on the successes of the past and creating new memories. Welcome back, and here's to a fantastic and enriching continuation of the academic year!
Health Guidance for Going to School
Showing up to school every day is critical for children’s well-being, engagement, and learning!
Make sure to send children to school if they are:
• Generally healthy and well.
• Participating in usual day-to-day activities.
• Children CAN even go to school if they:
- Have a mild cold, which may include a runny nose and/or cough.
- Have eye drainage without fever, eye pain or eyelid redness.
- Have a mild stomachache.
- Have a mild rash with no other symptoms.
- Haven’t had a fever in the past 24 hours and they have not taken fever-reducing medicine during that time.
Avoid keeping children at home unless they are too sick to participate. Please see the back of this handout for details. Note that in most situations, a health-care provider’s note is not needed to return.
Children may also avoid school due to anxiety (symptoms may include decreased appetite, feeling tired, stomachache, headache, etc). If you are worried that your child may be suffering from anxiety, talk with your teacher, the school nurse, social worker or other school staff to discuss the challenge and identify what can help your child stay in school.

Breakfast and Lunch Options
Every Patriot Press newsletter has a link for our school district's breakfast and lunch menu. As a reminder our lunch has two options of choice. We do our best to ensure all 3 of our lunches have enough of both options but sometimes we run low. However, students will always be given a meal. If your child has any allergies that our school needs to know about please fill out the appropriate paperwork so we can ensure those dietary restrictions are met. Thank you!
In Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr we will not have school on January 15th!
