Eaton Parent Newsletter
May 20th, 2022
Dear Eaton Families,
Our students had a great week! Thank you to Coach Tew for all of his work to make Field Day a fun and successful day. Thank you to all of our parents and volunteers. We loved having you here to help run stations, and to cheer on our kids. We appreciate the donations of water bottles to help our students stay hydrated and cool. Field Day was a wonderful way to end our week.
Car Pick Up Line
With the summer heat upon us, we have noticed that drivers are stopping under the shade tree rather than pulling forward to the next vehicle when picking up children after school. This is lengthening our car pick-up line and negatively impacting the turn lane coming from Gordon Road. Please pull forward to the next vehicle when picking up children after school and in the morning.
5th Grade Celebration
We are looking forward to honoring our 5th graders on Wednesday, June 8th. We invite our 5th grade families to join us for a ceremony at 9:00 in our Multi-Purpose Room. Guests can begin arriving at 8:30am. We anticipate the ceremony to last approximately 1 1/2 hours. Students are invited to dress to impress! We encourage them to bring a change of clothes for their afternoon festivities.

If you are planning to move before the next school year, and your school assignment will change, please let us know by contacting our front desk or our Data Manager, Lyndsie Hutson lyndsie.hutson@nhcs.net

End-of-Grade (EOG) Assessments @ Eaton
Please be mindful of EOG testing dates. We ask that students arrive on time. Cellphones, devices, smartwatches, etc. are not allowed in the testing setting. If your child needs to bring their device to school it has to be turned off and collected by the teacher. Devices will be returned after the test session is over. We ask that students get plenty of rest the night before testing. If students miss testing they will make up their EOG the day they come back.
EOG Assessment Dates:
May 26th, Science EOG (5th Grade)
May 27th, Reading EOG (3rd, 4th & 5th Grades)
June 1st, Math EOG (3rd Grade)
June 2nd, Math EOG (4th & 5th Grades)
In addition to EOG assessments, some 3rd graders will be invited to take the Read to Achieve (RTA) assessment on June 3rd. This assessment is for 3rd grade students who are not proficient in reading. It is an additional opportunity for 3rd grade students to show proficiency in reading. You will receive a phone call after the Reading EOG if your 3rd grader is invited to take this assessment.
