Newsletter for September 2021

What's happening at The Mission?

September has arrived and the kids are going back to school. It's time for the parents to relax a bit and make a trip to the winery. We have a lot to tell you about.

The Winemaker has been busy bottling our new "1589 Wine." It's the Pineau Des Charentes that I've mentioned in past Newsletter issues. It's finally bottled and will be on the menu in the next couple weeks. We've also bottled our new version of Steam Engine Red Blend, the Number 1 Red Blend and the new Bourbon Barrel Malbec. We used a Primitivo for our last Bourbon Barrel Blend but Trent felt the flavor profile was better fitted to a Malbec. It's delicious, so you can be the judge.

In the 2021 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition, beside winning 3 DOUBLE GOLD MEDALS, we also won a couple of "Director's Awards." The Director's Awards we won were BEST PETITE SIRAH and BEST DESERT WINE for our Madeira. There were about 6oo wines entered in the competition so we did really well, especially for our first year. Congrats to Trent and the wine making team.

As Frank Sinatra used to say "It's was a very good year......"
