Note from the Nurse
What’s happened on Thursday, April 15th? Washington state is now open for COVID vaccine for everyone that is 16 and older. Those that are age 16-17 will need permission from a parent. Both types of vaccine are approved for age 18 and older, Pfizer is the one approved for age 16 and older.
As of now, 20% of Washington is fully vaccinated; that’s over 4 million doses given. We are looking forward to everyone having an opportunity to get vaccinated. The more immune we are, the safer we will all feel. COVID vaccine is available at clinics, drugstores and vaccine sites set up for the purpose. Here are two website links to check on a place near you.
https://vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov/ is the state website for finding a place. 1-800 525-0127 is their hotline number.
https://CovidWa.com is a volunteer-driven site that helps people find a matching clinic. They want you to text your zip code to 206 222-9793 & they will text you an available place.
Another option for families that cannot access vaccine clinics:
King County COVID-19 Call Center at 206-477-3977 between 8 AM and 7 PM PST, any day. Language interpretation is available. You will be asked a few questions to confirm your eligibility for in-home vaccination, and if eligible you’ll be asked to provide verbal consent for vaccination. Family members and caregivers may call to request appointments on behalf of others. If you meet the criteria, you will receive a call from the mobile vaccination team to schedule your appointment. At that time, you can indicate if you need interpretation services for your in-home vaccination. The mobile teams will provide phone-based interpretation and translated written materials during the visit. In some situations, we may be able to provide in-person interpretation. You can also tell the scheduler if you have family members 18 years or older in the home who also need vaccines. For more info, see link below.
