The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. Superintendent's Reports | watch


  • Quarterly Update - Long-Range Plan
    Superintendent Gordon reported on the second year of the Long-Range Plan. He shared minor edits that have been made and explained the rationale for the edits. He also reiterated that a lot of the LRP goals are stretch goals. Dr. Gordon explained that it was the NWEA recommendation to adjust the goals for MAP to the 50th percentile and above.
  • Scheduling Committee
    Dr. Gordon announced that the first meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 29.
  • Blue Ribbon Endorsement
    Late Friday afternoon the District was notified that we were awarded a Blue Ribbon Endorsement for the Baby and Me Program for children from birth to 3 years old. Dr. Gordon expressed that he is incredibly proud of the work in our District with some of the most vulnerable children. Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Katie McCluskey thanked the team for their efforts and time. She shared that they worked so hard for this to come true and she is honored to work alongside the staff.
  • Staff Celebration
    Dr. Gordon read an email from teacher Heather Heskin and applauded teachers supporting one another.

  • Lucy Calkins Unit of Study and Eureka Math
    Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Katie McCluskey presented an overview of the third year of implementation of both curriculums and resources.

  • 2019/2020 Budget Development
    Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter presented the budget development process. He shared the steps and timeline. He also talked about a new technology plan that is similar to the facilities capital plan. He answered questions from Board members and they discussed the information provided. Director of Buildings and Grounds Dave Scarmardo provided a summary of the Five-Year Capital Plan and the Director of Technology Mike Wood presented the details of a technology plan.
