Principal's Message
December is a month that seems to move quickly in elementary school. There are many exciting events planned starting with our Grade 5 Choral Concert on Monday, December 3! The students have been working hard and I know they will do a wonderful job.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are planned for December 4th and 5th. I hope that you all have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to find out the progress that your child has been making.
The TES PTO will be sponsoring several events throughout the month. Our Holiday Bazaar will be from December 10-14. This is a time for students to shop for their loved ones. We will also be participating in the annual PJ Day for the Kids which brings awareness and fundraising for CCMC. Students and teachers will be able to wear their PJs to school on December 14. A third event that the PTO will be organizing is the Polar Express on December 21. Please be on the look-out for more information on all these events.
As we move toward the winter break, please remember to keep reading and practicing basic math facts. Sometimes a long vacation from school can cause children to lose some of their skills. The more students read, the easier reading becomes!
I wish all of our Thalberg family and friends a very safe, happy and healthy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Katie Reeves

Mrs. Baer's Music Corner
Students in Miss Baer’s Music classes are…
· Kindergarten students are learning about Largo (slow) and Presto (fast) in music as they practice keeping the heart beat while singing. Their singing is more in tune and many students are singing in their head voice.
· First grade students are singing and identifying high and low sounds as Sol and Mi.
· Second graders are singing songs with La and improvised rhythm patterns with icon representation. They were introduced to a new note called Ta-ah found in Candy Rhythms and Pumpkin Stew ingredients.
· Third graders are learning about Do, Re and Ta-ah-ah. Soon they will be ready to play recorders.
· Fourth graders used Potato rhythms to learn about Ta-ka-di-mi. They are creating their own rhythm patterns with these notes.
· Fifth graders have become wonderful singers as they prepared for their Winter Concert. Awesome voices.
Media News, Literally!
Media Skills class is not all fun and games. Well, it is fun, but not all games. Some of our Tech-Sperts have been working tirelessly around the clock trying to keep everyone in the know. These Tech-Sperts have dubbed themselves "The Thalberg News Crew" and have been recording weekly newscasts of the latest happenings. The crew gathers all their information, writes their own scripts, records on the Green Screen, then, cuts and edits the video before "broadcasting." There have been three installments of Thalberg News thus far and more on the horizon. They even put together a website, where you can find what they're all about, crew bios, and watch previous episodes. Check it out by clicking on the link below!
