LIBRARY UPGRADE
Our school libraries are getting a computer-system upgrade this spring, thanks to generous support from the Mountain View Educational Foundation.
The new system, called Follett Destiny, will benefit students in several ways. It will provide simpler checkouts; faster and more-accurate book searches; and an easier-to-use home page for students and parents. As a result, library staff will have more time to share their love of reading with students. This platform also has educational benefits, such as assigning reading levels to books to help students choose materials that are right for them.
The initial switch will take place over the spring break (April 10-14). To ensure that we have as few checked-out books as possible before the changeover, the last date to check out a book will be March 31. All books should be returned to the library during class visits the week of April 3 - 7, or no later than Friday, April 7. Book check-out will resume once again when we return from spring break starting on Tuesday April 18.
Your cooperation with this request will mean the smoothest-possible transition.
Thank you for your support and partnership.

The 2017 MVEF Spring Gala and Auction is Coming Soon!
The MVEF Spring Gala and Auction will be held on March 25, 2017, from 6:30 - 11:30 pm at the Mountain View Senior Center, with a champagne reception at 5:30 pm, featuring a performance from CSMA's Music in Action.
This year's theme is #ThisiswhyIgive, celebrating the many reasons you, as donors, support MVEF and why a well-rounded education is essential for every student at every school. MVEF's goal is to raise $100,000 toward this year's overall goal of raising $750,000 for our District.
MVEF invites you to join the celebration that evening. Buy tickets here: http://www.mvef.org/gala. Volunteers are needed leading up to the event and the day of the event, helping with set-up. If you are interested in volunteering or have an item to donate, please email gala@mvef.org.
