CHRIST-KING CATHOLIC SCHOOL
January 2022
Returning to School on January 10th
With the announcement of resuming classes, there are some items that will remain the same as before and a few new items parents need to be aware of.
-Please keep your student home if they are sick or showing symptoms. If you are unsure, refer to the symptom checklist or keep your child home and call Mrs. McMillan for guidance. This will be VERY important in the coming weeks to ensure we can stay with in-person learning.
-Masking remains mandatory for Grade 4-9. Masking is recommended by AHS but not required for K-3.
-Masking for K-9 on the bus remains mandatory.
-Masks and rapid test kits, supplied by Alberta Education, are expected to arrive to CKCS this week. They will be distributed to families with more information when they arrive. At this time, we are not aware that it will be mandatory for families to use these new supplies.
Please see the "Parent Communication" letter from our Superintendent with more details on the return to learning below. Also attached, parents will find the revised "Daily Screening Checklist" from AHS.
For families that will choose to participate in the At-Home Rapid Testing Program, there is an information pamphlet attached below as well as a YouTube video on how to properly administer an At-Home Rapid Test.
Faith Moment
On Monday when we return, CKCS will be celebrating the Epiphany (traditionally on January 6th) where we recognize the Wise Men who came to visit Baby Jesus. We will use this day to complete our classroom Nativity scenes, and blessing our school by marking our doorways!
Ornament Raffle
Our annual CKCS Ornament Raffle came to a close just before Christmas Break with all the donation ornaments on our school Christmas tree going home with our student winners. CKCS raised $275 to donate to the Stettler Christmas Hamper this year! A huge thank you to all staff and students who participated!
Advent Concert - Straight Outta Bethlehem
A huge thank you goes out to the staff and students who were involved in the creation. From memorizing lines, building props, painting the set, to setting up the lights and sound system, everyone put in a lot of hours to make sure it was all that it could be!
Spreading Christmas Cheer to Stettler Seniors
Nativity Set Contest
We had many Nativity set entries and they all looked so amazing. It was clear that the students put many hours into their creations. After being passed onto the Church, they have been judged and winners have been announced!
Congrats to all our winners!
