Wednesday, March 3 - Boys Track Meet at OTHS* 5:00 p.m., Cheer Tryout Parent Meeting 6:00 p.m. in the LGI or Zoom
Thursday, March 4 - Girls Track Meet at JHS* 5:00 p.m.
Friday, March 5 - Fun Food Friday
*Due to reduced capacity at Track Meets, No unaccompanied students will be admitted. All student spectators must be accompanied by an adult.

The 2019 - 2020 Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps.

International Festival - Tuesday, March 2nd
The SLJH International Festival is going VIRTUAL this year! The event link will be shared via enews on Tuesday, March 2nd at 6 pm. The event video will include country “booths” from around the world, performances, student hosts sharing about our school, cooking demonstrations, art gallery and more! Please save the date for this exciting virtual event!
Author Visit
VIRTUAL AUTHOR VISIT:
The multi-talented author Holly Goldberg Sloan will have a virtual author visit with our FTF Spartans on March 2, 2021, at 9:50-10:30a.m. If students are in an ELA class during this time slot, they will be participating in this virtual author visit. If students are not in a Face-to-face ELA class during this time slot, they can sign up to participate in this virtual author visit in the library or LGI by scanning the QR code below. (This information can be found in the SLJH library as well.)

Sloan is the author of Counting by 7’s, Short, I’ll be There and many other well-known titles. She will present about her newest book, The Elephant in the Room. If a student would like to purchase an autographed copy of any of these books, they may visit the Blue Willow BookShop link below.

Cheer Tryouts for 2021-2022
Cheer tryouts will be on April 10th!
Mascot tryouts will be in the following weeks depending on interest.
To try out for cheerleader or mascot, students and ONE parent MUST attend the Tryout Meeting.
Tryout Meeting will be held on March 3rd in the LGI (virtual option will also be available).

Gaming Safety Presentation
The rise of online gaming in mainstream culture has caused an increased risk of vulnerability and victimization in students. This presentation, by Crime Stoppers, will teach you about video game basics, the impact of eSports on our culture and safety, how gaming could be affecting your student, and how to keep your student safe while gaming. We will end this presentation with monitoring tools and techniques to aid you in ensuring safe game play in your home.
