Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans
Thank you to the many volunteers who assisted with Staff Appreciation. Your support is greatly appreciated among our amazing staff. Our team is looking forward to celebrating our Seniors next Tuesday at Honors Night. A live-stream link will be shared once they have been set up. Additionally, you may access from the district's YouTube account.
There are numerous items in the Lost & Found, which is located in the Business Office. It is also time to start thinking about returning any materials to the LMC.
As the weather becomes more Spring-like and we inch closer to the closing weeks of the school year, students are reminded that all school standards are still an expectation. All students are expected to demonstrate acceptable standards of behavior and dress. Any behavior which is disruptive to the school or threatens the safety and well-being of others will not be tolerated. Seniors who do not follow school rules and regulations will jeopardize their participation in the prom and commencement exercises. Consequences apply to all school-sponsored events and activities, both on and off campus.
As a simple reminder, students must wear:
* A Top - A shirt that fully covers the torso and is fitted under the arms,
* A Bottom - (pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, leggings, etc.), and
* Shoes that are appropriate for school activities.
Sunglasses are not permitted during the school day unless for a medical reason approved by an administrator.
Let's stay committed and dedicated to our academics during our last weeks. There are still many points to earn. Be one time and in attendance of all classes. It will be summer before you know it.
All the best!

Substitute Teacher Appreciation
This is celebrated annually during the first week of May. We are thankful every day for the magnificent substitutes that give their time to help ensure our students day is bountiful even if their regular educator is away from the classroom. The heart and hard work of Mrs. Mulka and Mr. Kotsogiannis of our Stevenson Scheduling office have ensured our subs were provided many fantastic treats.
The LPS Education Foundation is again offering Star Awards for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Month 2023!
Are you looking for a unique way to thank a Livonia Public Schools staff member? A Star Award honors any LPS employee who has made a difference in a student’s, family’s or fellow staffer’s life. For a $25 donation to the Foundation, a personalized, color certificate will be presented to your honoree, and they will receive recognition on the Foundation's website and social media platforms as well as the district's social media platforms. The certificate will be personalized with your praise to show this LPS employee how much they mean to you!
Please click on the link below to send a Star Award to an awesome LPS staff member!

Donations received will be used to help fund the Foundation’s Grant Program so all funds will be going back into the schools to provide programs and supplies for our students and staff.
Thank you for your support! This is an ongoing fundraiser and Star Awards may be submitted at any time.

Athletic Senior Night Celebrations!!
Class of 2023 College Decision Day
Each year at Stevenson, Seniors are recognized by indicating future plans whether it is college, trade school, military, gap year, etc. Stevenson’s Senior Signing Day serves as a chance to share your exciting future and gain a sense of pride. This year's Senior Signing Day will take place on May 15, 2023.
We ask that the Class of 2023 individually share their plans to help us create a Virtual Signing Day to share through Stevenson's social media platforms and on the television monitors throughout the school. This will allow fellow students, staff, and even parents to learn about your future post-graduation.
Additionally on May 15, we ask that Seniors wear their college apparel as there will be group photos taken throughout the day with staff.
Please complete by May 19, 2023, if you would like to be included in the slide show.

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines mental health as follows, “Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.”
