"Love First, Last, & Always"
In October we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, so we recognize October as the month of the rosary. Classes are spending time this month learning and praying the rosary. Some students have made simple decade (10 bead) rosaries to help them pray and other classes have headed outside on a rosary walk! During open chapel time, students are invited to gather and pray a decade at recess.
We pray the rosary because it’s a powerful prayer to God, through His mother, Mary.
The word “rosary” comes from the Latin word “roserius” which means “garland of roses” and “beads” means “to pray.”
The prayers of the rosary called “mysteries” are meant to help us meditate on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
If you are interested in learning more about how to pray the rosary, please explore this How to Pray the Rosary infographic. The free app Laudate is a simple, yet spectacular, resource you may wish to explore. Whether you pray the rosary or simply pray from your heart, God hears all prayers.
