The Stegemoller Scoop

November 16-20

Veterans Day!

What an incredible afternoon! The students were fully engaged and had AMAZING questions for each Veteran. I learned so much from listening to the Veterans stories. I know the students did, too. The Veterans seemed to enjoy their time with the students.

What's Happening in Room 505!

MATH

Geometry unit is now finished. We will spiral review Geometry throughout the school year. We are starting Unit 8: Fractions. This is a difficult concept, so we will be completing this unit at a slower pace.

Please make sure your child is practicing their math facts at home. Addition 0-12, Subtraction 0-12, and Multiplication 0-12. I suggest using Flashcards, Flash to Pass (App.), or print free pages online. We give the students 50 problems to complete in 3 minutes. If you need to know what your child is working on, send me an email.

READING

We are assessing on Unit 2 Week 5 on Monday and reviewing and reassessing Unit 2 skills all week.

WRITING

We are working on our Informational paper about Endangered Animals. We have finished our outlines and will now start publishing the paper.

Social Studies

Chapter 2: Our Environment (finishing)

Reminder!!

Math and Reading Homework due Friday!

No School: November 25th-27th for Thanksgiving Break.

ATTENTION!!!

SRI and SMI will be tested the first week we get back from Christmas Break. Please make sure your child is finding time to read over the long break. My concern is that scores could drop if students are not continuing to read and practice math over break. We will be sending home Christmas Break homework to ensure that students are still reviewing skills.
