All you need to know

What's the issue?

Civil cases will generally deal with a plaintiff and defendant. The plaintiff, the party that was harmed or done wrong, will file a complaint against the defendant, which is the party that is being accused of doing wrong.

What will happen?

The defendants will receive a summons, which is a formal invitation to court. The defendants will also state their pleadings, which is a statement for cause of action or defense. The pretrial conference is conference held before the trial begins to bring the parties together to outline discovery proceedings and to define the issues to be tried.
