Dear Parents of 3rd-5th Grade Students,

Your kids, ours students, did a wonderful job during STAAR. They came to school prepared and gave the assessments their best effort.

Scores are scheduled to be in on Monday. May 23, 2022. More directions will be forthcoming on how to view your child's scores, as well as Dream Camp and Summer Enrichment. Stay tuned. I will be in touch.

This Week's Golden Paw Recipients

Every week we recognize students who are demonstrating our BCE credo! Our credo is WORK HARD-SHOW RESPECT-BE KIND-NO EXCUSES. Mr. Calvert, Dr. Stevens, and members of the lead team, visit each classroom to award Golden Paw stickers to students nominated by their teachers! Our school is full of great kids and we love highlighting outstanding character!

Family Engagement Specialist's Niche

I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you this year! Bear Creek is blessed with such great support from families and community members, and I’m excited and grateful to be a part of this wonderful school!

I hope you all have a fabulous summer and find ways to relax and connect with your children and family. I usually start working on our family’s summer calendar this time of year and like to look at all of the events and programs that the community offers. Many of them are free or low cost, especially at the local libraries! Also, to keep your child engaged with some learning, there is a list with some learning resources. I hope you’ll find these helpful!

At Bear Creek, we are proud to be a member of the No Excuses University Network. As a No Excuses School we believe that every student has a right to be educated in a way that prepares them for college. We discuss goals, have college conversations, and end our announcements each day with the phrase "After high school comes college"!

Please help us reach our goal of having every family join the Bear Creek PTA! The PTA does many wonderful things for our students, staff, and community!

Look for the PTA sign up booth at Meet the Teacher!

  • Memberships are $8.50 each ($9.00 if you use card).
  • There is not obligation to volunteer. Joining PTA helps make events for students and support for teachers possible. See the membership form for more info on what PTA does.
  • Our goal as a PTA is 200 members before October 1.
