MJ1 Drama Club: “Aesop’s Fables”
This year's Drama Club production is "Aesop's Fables," an exciting opportunity for actors in grades 5-8 of all levels. No preparation for auditions is required! Auditions are on Tuesday, January 21 from 3:30-5:00 in the multipurpose room. Please be on time for auditions! Bring a snack or water if you need it. You must have your signed Drama Club Agreement (other side of this sheet) before you may audition. Rehearsals will begin Monday, January 27 and will take place every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:30-5:00. Performance dates are February 26 and 27.
Please note that not all students who audition will be cast in the show - we are looking for only 6-14 dedicated actors. The directors will take the level of commitment to the Drama Club Agreement from previous years into account. Casting is based not only on the audition, but also attitude, self-control, and responsibility. Actors can not audition unless they and a parent/guardian sign and return the Drama Club Agreement on the following page. Roles will be posted no later than Thursday, January 23.

For 8th grade parents
Dear parents of future LUHS Thunderbirds,
We look forward to welcoming your child to Lakeland Union High School in the coming years. It is important that you start planning for this transition while in middle school to ensure that course selections support the chosen career path of your son or daughter.. Important factors that will guide your son or daughter in making decisions along the way include, selecting a career target as well as demonstrating the skills necessary to achieve that career target.
Since most of the course decisions will be based on a career plan and achievement data, it is important that your child completes the necessary tasks in and related to Career Cruising. It is important to monitor assessment results on the STAR or MAPS Assessment, state mandated assessments and other assessments common to the Lakeland Area Schools to ensure your child is academically ready for their courses.
